What a fantastic start to Year 3 we have had! The children have returned to school with a positive, mature attitude to KS2 and have been really excited to start their learning journey.
This week we had our first swimming lesson which the children thoroughly enjoyed. They were a shining example of how incredible we are here at Barnack and I was very proud of their behaviour and their attentiveness during the lesson. I am very much looking forward to seeing the progress we make during the next term, as I can see already the determination to learn to swim or improve.
The children have immersed themselves in our new topic of the Stone Age, particularly in forest school where they have been creating cave paintings with natural materials, building shelters and carrying out archaeological digs!
I must also add the phenomenal start we have had with reading and our word count on accelerated reader is already a quarter of a million words. Let's keep it up and we will no doubt smash our target of half a million by half term. Well done!
