Yesterday we had a fantastic first day of our wilderness week.
We used the book “the stick man” as our hook for the day. We read the story then went outside on the hunt for lots of sticks. We then organised the sticks into thick sticks, thin sticks, long sticks and short sticks. After this the children then created their very own stick family, they used rich language to describe why they needed a long stick for taller members of the family and shorter sticks for the younger members of their family.
After lunch we then made the number 4 with sticks and collected different objects from the forest school area to make different numbers.
We finished our day by playing a team game of passing the stick down the line, the, the children had to use their listening skills and work together to get the stick from the first person in their group to that person at the end.
Well done everyone!
