Year 5 are half a term into their Ancient Greeks topic, and we are loving it!
We have examined a whole host of myths and legends to aid in writing our own awesome myths. We have also created a whole heap of Greek inspired art works: plates depicting the Trojan war and the Trojan horse; Greek pottery and using a grid to accurately reproduce and draw a scene from a classic Greek Myth. In science we are exploring the effects of forces such as gravity and air resistance on falling objects and the speed it takes them to fall. This week, the children have completed their spring term assessments and as a reward we participated in a live draw with the illustrator of the Harry Potter books (and he designed the Pirates in An Adventure with Scientists) and drew their own Hagrid.
