Over the last couple of weeks in maths we have ventured on to the topic of geometry. During that time, the children have drawn, measured and found missing angles within a variety of different shapes. In their most recent maths lessons we have moved onto reading and plotting coordinates, specifically on a four quadrant grid.
Whilst in English we have continued to consolidate our application of a variety of reading skills across varying genres and texts.
We have had a science-heavy couple of weeks as we have started to explore the concept of classification. We researched the studies of Carl Linnaeus who initially started to classify living organisms into groups. Following this we then started to think about how classification works within the animal kingdom; looking at specific characteristics of animals and grouping them together. Finally, we had a practical lesson where the children were given the opportunity to use a microscope to examine the finer details of a plant.
