Sports Update

On Friday 17th May our Year 5 and 6 NFL Flag Football Team attended the Cambridgeshire Regional Tournament.

After winning the Peterborough finals our team qualified to the county finals. They played several tough games and showed real perseverance and determination. Overall we placed 5th in the county! Great job Barnack.


On Thursday 23rd May, some of our Year 4 girls went to Jack Hunt School to play in a Girls Football Tournament. They played against schools such as Paston, St John's, Eye and Hampton.

They worked together in order to be successful. They showed great maturity and sportsmanship throughout the tournament and placed 1st! Congratulations, Well done!


On Friday 24th May both our Girls Football and Boys Football Team attended the Peterborough Finals Tournament at Weston Homes Stadium.

The girls fought hard through their games and just narrowly missed out on the finals. The Boys Team played together really well and made it into the Finals just missing out on 1st place coming 2nd. They all showed excellent maturity and sportsmanship! Well done.


On Thursday 6th June two Year 6 boys and two Year 6 girls attended an Orange Ball Tennis Tournament.

They played a tough 24 games of tennis varying in opponents and types of games. They won 21 out of 24 games placing 1st overall. The children showed perseverance throughout the day!


On Friday 14th June our Netball team from Years 5 and 6 attended ST Ivos Academy for the Netball Cambridgeshire County Finals.

We competed in a group stage based on where we came in the Peterborough finals and came second in our group pushing us through the finals to play for 1st. The games were fast paced and the children gave 100% the whole time. We ended up finishing 5th overall in the county. Well done Barnack!


On Wednesday 19th June, our Year 6 Girls cricket team went to Orton Park Cricket Club.

They played in a group stage which they won and played against schools such as Beeches, Winyates, St John's and, Fulbridge, Eye and William De Yaxley. The girls won the finals and came 1st overall!


On Wednesday 20th June it was the Year 5 and 6 Boys turn to play cricket at Orton Park Cricket Club.

They played similar schools to the Girls and ended up playing in the finals coming 2nd! Excellent job Barnack!!


On Tuesday 25th June our Year 6 Netball Team played against Winyates and St John's in a Netball Tournament here at Barnack.

They played 4 games and won them all coming 1st place. They all showed great improvement and collaboration together. Well done Barnack!



Sports Week - w.c 17th June.

On Monday and Tuesday, we had inflatables from Bourne Fun. There was an Assault Course, Bouncy Castle, Axe Throwing, Football activity and Basketball Shooting activity. The children all had great fun on these and loved all the activities. This was great fun for all!

For the rest of the week our PE had different activities such as Basketball, Volleyball and Bowling. The children enjoyed all these different activities and loved trying new sports.


Sports Day - 26th June

On Wednesday 26th June it was Barnack’s sports day. In the morning we had our KS1 sports day races. This was followed by a family picnic which all the children enjoyed. In the afternoon we had our KS2 races. This was an excellent opportunity for the children to showcase what they have been practising. A big thank you to our parent helpers who helped at the finishing line and all the year 6’s who made a massive difference in making the day run smoothly.
