This term, all of our writing has been based around the book 'The Great Kapok Tree'.
There have been strong links between our science work about animals, our geography based topic of the rainforest and our book which is set in the Amazon rainforest. As this has covered so much of our curriculum, we have been able to delve deeper into the characters and have written postcards from a boa constrictor, acted out being a sloth, visited these animals at the zoo before finally, writing a persuasive letter to save the trees from deforestation. I am so proud of the effort put in to these letters, and as you can see, the effort year 2 have put into their handwriting is paying off!
