A team of children took part in the First Lego League tournament on Saturday 28th January. The First Lego League tournament is supported by local engineers who work for CAT engines at Perkins.
The purpose of the tournament is to design a robot which will tackle a series of challenges which the children have to programme; they then compete against other robots for points! In addition to this, the children have to design a new concept in line with the project brief, work together as a team and present their project to the engineers.
After a fun filled day completing all the challenges, an award ceremony took place. With all four aspects; the robot challenge including the programming, project innovation, presentation and teamwork we scored the highest points and won the championship.
We are now through to the national competition in April. We are all very proud of the children and what they have achieved.
