Fabulous start to the term!

What a wonderful start back to the term we have had in year 1! Our first week back was focused on assessments and I have been completely blown away by the determination and resilience I have witnessed! Year 1 should be very proud of themselves!

This week we had our open morning, welcoming parents into year 1 to showcase the fabulous work we have been doing. As always, it was lovely to see all the parents and to watch the children take pride in their work. As it is world book day this week, we have also been focusing on the book, ‘The Dam’. Exploring the various words and meanings that we are unsure of and beginning to think about how we could use our senses to describe the setting. In relation to the book, ‘The Dam’ we have also begun to explore what a dam is and why they are used. The children also made some fantastic dam models which were later tested with water!
