After a hard-working yet enjoyable first half-term

Writer: Mr HollingsworthMr Hollingsworth

After a hard-working yet enjoyable first half-term; this half-term has very much started in the same manner! The children have engaged brilliantly with the topic of fractions in maths; exploring how to simplify, compare and order fractions. Whilst within our English lessons, we have been building up to writing an engaging recipe about 'What makes us who we are' - plenty of unique ingredients, as you can imagine. In other areas of the curriculum, the children have significantly developed their knowledge of the Maya civilisation and are looking forward to our topic-based trip to Cadbury World in the coming weeks. As well as this, they have consolidated their understanding of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution - focusing specifically on the adaptations of moths. Also over the last couple of weeks, one day we were fortunate enough to be joined by PCSO who delivered a really informative session around E-safety; whilst on another we had the NSPCC deliver a workshop on staying safe. In addition to really impressing within the classroom, many of the class have represented the school impeccably when given the chance at different events! Long may this all continue!
