A fantastic end to Spring term 1

Writer: Lucy KentLucy Kent
During the final week of Spring 1 we continued to learn about famous explorer Ernest Shackleton, the children really enjoyed learning how Ernest overcame a variety of challenges he faced on his expeditions.

We completed our final art piece for the term. We used all the skills we had learnt over the weeks - learning the primary colours, how to mix colours and how to layer. The class all made their own picture inspired by our class read "Lost and Found".

We had great fun joining Y5 and Y6 to design, make and test obstacle courses. It involved a lot of team work and trial and error. We discussed how Ernest Shackleton would have used many of these skills on his expeditions.
